  • Vice Media Group is venturing into the virtual world with a brand new Decentraland-based HQ. The new office will serve as an innovation lab for VMG businesses, which includes Virtue and Vice, as well as a meeting point for clients and collaborators to experiment and showcase new products. The building has a cubicle structure with corridors and steps spiraling through it. Architects will soon be wondering why they were forced to go to architecture school.
  • Benetton is one of latest major fashion brands to incorporate the Metaverse in their marketing strategy. People visiting the virtual store due to open in a few weeks will have a chance to collect QR codes via interactive games that can be redeemed later at physical stores. The online showroom will look similar to the flagship store at Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Milan. Antonio Patrissi, Chief Digital Officer, revealed that with this hybrid model the brand wants to build a “circular relationship between the physical world and the metaverse.” And a circular relationship between them and our wallets.
  • Digital content marketplace MContent teamed up with PwC to launch Cineverse. The first event provided guests with all that is required for a great night of cinema: red carpets, comfortable plush seats, and the sound of popcorn. Participants experienced it from the beach of W Dubai wearing VR headsets. The CEO of MContent strongly believes that the “immersive cinema experience has global scalability” and “can increase funding & screening opportunities for thousands of independent filmmakers.” Tarantino and Nolan don’t have to worry just yet.
  • Wrangler, the American denim manufacturer, launched a new NFT collection in celebration of its 75th anniversary. The collaboration featuring Grammy award-winner songwriter Leon Bridges will see 75 original NTFs auctioned off that will unlock unique Wrangler apparel and a VIP pass to this year’s New York Fashion Week. The brand will follow up with plans to host its own Metaverse event in September, where no physical denims will be required.
